Redcar Nostalgia Weekend ( Return to Diary Page )

This is the first time representatives of Redcar council have requested us to present this event and it was brought about from an initial request after seeing us provide a similar event earlier in the year. Following a number of meetings to formalise arrangements the event took place on the 15th of August as planned. The weather was good considering the forcast and apart from one heavy downpour remained sunny and warm. Being a Saturday there were lots of people who were going about their normal shopping visiting the many excellent military and civilian displays both in and out of the marquee. A constant serenade of 40's songs and music was appreciated by everyone who visited and continued untill the fashion show which started around 12:30. This depicted civilian dress as well as military and was well recieved by all. A welcome inclusion of the local Sea Cadets and military standards made for a very full and rewarding display. The Mayors speech proclaimed the event a success and we look forward to repeating the event again next year.
