2013 Winter games (return to Diary Page) .(return to Contents Page)

The call was put out from Mike and Walter 'anyone up for a day out in the snow?’ Initially we intended to go north and pick up members of our northern colleagues but a call from Denny informed us that snow was falling thickly and according to him they were the size of half-crowns. At 7.30 in the morning the decision was to change the route to more familiar territory and we met at Yarm centre to plot the amended route. Heading towards Stokesley on towards Gt Broughton then turning towards Ingleby Greenhow saw us onto the snow and we never left it until returning via Casselton to the coast road returning through Guisbrough, Michael recorded the entire route for future use, we covered around 100miles during the day including a pub lunch, dark when I left home and dark when I returned, a great day.
